Mina Morita

President

Mina Morita has called Hanalei Valley home since 1977, where she and her husband raised their two daughters. She now has five grandchildren and Mina, like all families on the island, worries about her children and grandchildren’s’ future here on Kauai. After retiring from close to twenty years in State government as a legislator, commissioner and administrator, she hopes to use that experience to preserve the beauty, history, and culture of Kauai's northshore and work towards solutions to make its communities more sustainable and resilient.

Monica Belz

Monica Belz is the President/CEO of Kauai Federal Credit Union, Kauai's impact-driven CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution). Utilizing her expertise in entrepreneurship, she launched a firm that specializes in global branding and production for multinational corporations. For the past six years she has fulfilled multiple Executive Leadership roles in Federal Credit Unions across Kaua’i and served on several non-profit boards, both in Hawaii and internationally. As a former Firefighter/EMT and a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, she acquired experience in the rescue field both on land and at sea. Monica continues to pursue her love for the great outdoors as an avid backcountry snowboarder, rock climber, mountaineer, surfer, and free diver.

Amy Frazier

Vice-President

After being both a Buyer and Seller as a Real Estate Agent on multiple transactions Amy saw the need for a more transparent process with integrity as the driving force. She used that mentality to help guide the Hanalei Initiative as its first President. Amy lives an active lifestyle with her husband, two boys and their giant Labrador (whom you may have met roaming Hanalei bay in search of food and friends). All four generations of her family living here on the Garden Island share the same love for the ocean and all it has to offer, from surfing and exploring, to outrigger canoe paddling.

Megan McCullough

Secretary

Megan strongly values service and volunteerism. While her boys attended Aloha School, Hanalei Elementary School and Island School she was an active and consistent volunteer. This first experience living in Ha'ena allowed her to learn and appreciate the intricacies and uniqueness of the North Shore.

As participation in family activities expanded island-wide through pop warner, Hanakila basketball, soccer, surfing, and Mr. K’s ukulele concerts, Megan enjoyed getting to know the rest of the island.

After seeing the successful implementation of much-needed solutions for the North Shore community, she is thrilled to continue her love of service by participating as a part of the HI.

Megan gratefully enjoys a busy schedule with the family business, taking care of North Shore beaches, photography, travel, and of course, family.
